Maria Lopushanska, environmentalist of Zakhidnadraservice Group, took part in a briefing at the Lviv Press Club and presented the results of the study “EIA-2025: Reasons for Failure and Trends by Region”.

 The expert discussion was held in a constructive and effective format. Participants discussed key aspects of the issue, shared practical experience and provided professional comments.

 PAEW President Liudmyla Tsyhanok, PAEW Vice President Liudmyla Khomich, Head of PAEW Environmental Law Committee Lesia Baginska, Head of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Union of Lawyers Nazariy Soroka, Head of the Agroecology Committee of the PAEW Trade Union Natalia Rizak, Director of Center LTD Oleh Botha and Founder of the Geological Investment Group Iryna Suprun also voiced their positions.

Maria Lopushanska's presented research confirms that EIA does not work in the interests of the environment, business or the state.

Summary of the briefing: no expert commission has been established, although the law requires it since 2017; business loses resources because investors do not understand the status of projects without clear procedures; requirements for enterprises are often unreasonable; the war increases environmental risks and indicates the need for effective and transparent procedures.
